Staying Alive
So, in the “am I the only person who never heard of this movie” category…
Did anyone else know there was a sequel to Saturday Night Fever called Staying Alive? The final dance sequence has some pseudo-bondage-on-the-dance-floor, but I am astounded that I have never, ever heard of this movie.
I feel I am no longer in Kansas.
This has nothing to do with “Staying Alive” or pseudo-dance-floor-bondage but I was recently looking for horror movies on Netflix and found a whole sub-genre of gay horror films and the description Netflix provided for this one (called “In the Blood”) made me laugh:
“Finally ready to explore his attraction to men, college jock Cassidy (Tyler Hanes) goes out with sexy Victor (Carlos Alberto Valencia). But in the middle of their foreplay, he has a disturbing vision of his sister’s death, which may be linked to the recent murders on campus. A serial killer is on the loose, and the only way for Cassidy to have more psychic visions to help catch the murderer is to embrace his homosexuality completely.”

Oh my. I will have to look up this movie and at least watch the trailer. Is Jock Cassidy hot? That should be a movie… Jock Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Or something. I digress. Jet lag.

He looked reasonably cute on the cover but I didn’t actually watch the movie (it wasn’t available for live streaming or clearly I would have!). However, what I’m sure we can all agree about is that Cassidy is the gayest name for a college jock ever.
